How to attract customers to your business: 9 ways to make your offer visible
Passers-by decide in seconds whether to come in. Here are nine practical ways to make your offer visible, clear and up to date.
Customers judge a venue from the pavement
Before anyone reads your reviews or tries your coffee, they see your window and entrance. If they do not know what you offer and what it costs, they usually walk on. The good news: most improvements need no refit or big budget, just some thought about what you show and where.
The ways below work in a café, restaurant, shop, salon or any venue with a shop window. You can introduce them gradually: start with the spot customers see first, then move on to the interior and the till.
Ways 1–3: shop window and entrance
- Show one main offer in the window. One large, striking message works better than ten small sheets of paper on the glass.
- Put a menu or price list by the entrance. Customers want to know what they will get before they open the door.
- Make sure you are visible after dark. In autumn and winter it gets dark in the afternoon, and an unlit window disappears from view.
Ways 4–6: offer and photos
- Highlight the offer of the day or week by the till. That is where customers decide on an extra purchase.
- Use real, good photos. An appetising dish or product in good light speaks louder than the longest description.
- Keep it short: name, price, one sentence on the benefit. Text read from several metres away must be large and high-contrast.
Ways 7–9: light, change and order
- Use light as a magnet. A bright, evenly illuminated image catches the eye more strongly than an ordinary poster.
- Change content with the seasons: summer, holidays, a new menu, sales. The same display stops being noticed after a few weeks.
- Keep things tidy. Faded, dog-eared posters and sheets of paper stuck on with tape lower the impression of quality of the whole venue.
How to put these principles into practice
Many of these points come together in one tool: an illuminated LED frame, i.e. a light box for a printed poster. The single-sided LEDMESEE frame is just 12 mm thick, evenly lights a backlit print and shows photos in vivid colours. You change the poster without tools in seconds, so seasonal changes to your offer are no longer a problem.
An example set-up for a small venue: a double-sided A1 (594 × 841 mm) frame suspended in the window, an A2 (420 × 594 mm) frame with the menu by the entrance and an A4 power bank frame with the offer of the day by the till. The frames are designed for indoor use, so advertising for passers-by works from behind the glass.
How to order — step by step
You do not need to know about advertising or printing. You just need to know where the frame will hang and what you want to show on it.
- Measure the space and choose the artwork format — you will find tips above.
- Choose a model: single-sided for the wall, double-sided for the window, horizontal above the counter or with a power bank for the table.
- Prepare your artwork or describe what you want to show — we will help you choose the right backlit print.
- Order a frame and print at shop.ledmesee.com or send a photo of the space via the contact form.
- Hang or stand the frame, connect the power and slide in the poster. You change the next graphic in seconds.
