Shop window advertising: ideas that work after dark
A shop window keeps working after closing time, as long as it can be seen. We suggest how to use backlit posters to keep your offer readable from the street in the evening.
Why shop windows disappear after dark
During the day, the window is lit by daylight. In the evening, the glass starts to reflect the street lights and an ordinary unlit poster becomes a dark patch. Yet that is exactly when many people are on their way home from work, walking past your shop.
The solution is a graphic that produces its own light. A backlit poster behind the glass stays bright and legible, and photos keep their vivid colours.
Double-sided frame: advertising to the street and inside
The LEDMESEE double-sided model is 14 mm thick, has tempered glass on both sides and holds two independent posters. One side can show a campaign to passers-by, the other information for customers in the shop: new arrivals, the loyalty scheme or opening hours.
Double-sided vertical frames are available in A2 (420 × 594 mm), A1 (594 × 841 mm) and A0 (841 × 1189 mm) formats.
Cable suspension
A double-sided frame is easiest to hang from a ceiling hanger with cables. The graphic floats in the window space, does not block the product display and requires no work on the glass. Hang it so that the centre of the poster is roughly at a passer-by’s eye level.
- One large A0 frame in the centre of the window as the main message.
- Two or three A1 frames in a row, e.g. with successive products from the collection.
- A narrow single-sided 300 × 1200 mm or 600 × 1600 mm frame by the door, behind the glazing, with the campaign slogan.
Which format for which window
- Small window on a narrow pavement: A2 or A1.
- Large window on a busy street: double-sided A0, or single-sided 800 × 1200 mm or 800 × 1800 mm with the graphic facing the glass.
- Tall glazed façade: single-sided 1200 × 2400 mm.
- Counter or till right behind the glass: horizontal double-sided frames from 900 × 350 mm to 1200 × 450 mm, visible from both sides.
Campaign changes in seconds
A shop window works best when it changes. With an LEDMESEE frame you do not take the frame down or unscrew the casing: slide the old poster out through the slot and slide in a new backlit print. The frames are designed for indoor use. Do not mount them on the outside of the glass: the poster change slot is not sealed, so dust, dirt and moisture would get inside.
