GUIDE · DESIGN AND PRINT
A poster that looks good when illuminated.
Backlighting brings out photography and colour. Start with good materials and artwork prepared for the specific frame.
1. Confirm the artwork dimensions
Specify the frame model and size. Poster dimensions are different from the outer casing dimensions. Before exporting, confirm final file size, any bleed and a safe area for lettering. Do not automatically reuse settings from a leaflet or banner.
2. Choose a photograph that suits your offer
Show a dish in a restaurant, a room in a hotel or a particular product in a shop. Use a quality source image, not a small thumbnail from a messaging app. Crop in the poster’s proportions to preserve the most important part of the photograph.
3. Build a clear hierarchy
A large photograph, a short name and clear information usually make a message easy to grasp. Choose lettering for the viewing distance. Keep the logo legible while giving the offer room. Review the whole poster, not just a zoomed-in screen view.
4. Agree the backlit printing specifications
Backlit film is designed for illumination from behind. Printing affects saturation, detail and the appearance of dark areas. Confirm resolution, colour profile and export format with the printer. We do not prescribe one DPI setting for every size.
Colour on screen may differ from the finished, illuminated print. For brand-sensitive artwork, assess a physical print before producing a larger run.
5. Keep the file for your next campaign
Save the editable artwork and the print-ready version. Note the model and dimensions. For a poster series, keep the same grid, typography and space for offer information.
