MUSEUMS AND GALLERIES
The exhibition begins before visitors enter the gallery.
Visitors decide which exhibition to see while still in the lobby. An illuminated frame with a well-chosen image directs them where it is worth going.
What to show in the frame
In a museum, a light box frame combines promotional, informational and educational roles.
- Temporary exhibition poster featuring a key object.
- Visitor route and gallery signage.
- Introductory texts for sections of the exhibition.
- Programme of workshops, guided tours and museum lessons.
- Museum shop: catalogues, reproductions, souvenirs.
Where to hang it and which format
- Main lobby: 1200×2400 mm or 800×1800 mm with the exhibition poster, single-sided model.
- Tills and cloakroom: horizontal double-sided 1200×450 mm with prices and opening hours.
- Gallery entrance: 600×1600 mm with the title and a short introduction.
- Glazed entrance lobby: double-sided A0 (841 × 1189 mm) on cables, visible from outside through the glass.
- Museum shop: A4 (210 × 297 mm) with power bank by the till.
Why a backlit poster rather than a screen or an ordinary frame
A reproduction of an artwork on a poster must stay true to the colours. Even backlighting of a backlit print shows the details of a painting or the texture of a sculpture without hot spots or dark corners. A screen in an exhibition space competes with the exhibits, while a calm, illuminated graphic complements the display design. The slim profile lets you hang the frame on ceiling cables without touching historic walls. When a temporary exhibition changes, you only change the prints.
Case study
A regional museum holds several temporary exhibitions a year and used to order new banners each time. Now a 1200×2400 mm frame hangs on cables in the main hall, 600×1600 mm frames with introductions stand by the gallery entrances, and a horizontal 1200×450 mm frame with admission prices is above the ticket desk. For each new exhibition the museum only orders backlit prints; the frames stay in place and there is no need to touch the historic walls.
How to order — step by step
You do not need to know about advertising or printing. You just need to know where the frame will hang and what you want to show on it.
- Measure the space and choose the artwork format — you will find tips above.
- Choose a model: single-sided for the wall, double-sided for the window, horizontal above the counter or with a power bank for the table.
- Prepare your artwork or describe what you want to show — we will help you choose the right backlit print.
- Order a frame and print at shop.ledmesee.com or send a photo of the space via the contact form.
- Hang or stand the frame, connect the power and slide in the poster. You change the next graphic in seconds.
Important: an indoor frame
LEDMESEE frames are designed for indoor use. The slot through which you change the poster is not sealed, so outdoors dust, dirt and moisture would get inside. If you want passers-by to see your advertising, place the frame indoors, behind the shop window. We are working on a special cover that will protect the frame from rain, snow, dust and dirt.
