CINEMAS AND THEATRES

A premiere that glows in the foyer like a playbill.

Film and theatre posters are an art form. An illuminated LED frame renders their colours and details as the designer intended, in the dim light of the foyer.

What to show in the frame

In cinemas and theatres, an LED frame is the natural successor to the classic poster display case.

  • Posters for premieres and productions in the programme.
  • Announcements of the next season or festival.
  • Snack bar offer: popcorn, drinks, pre-show combos.
  • Passes, family tickets and gift vouchers.
  • Screen signage and admission rules for the auditorium.
02

Where to hang it and which format

  • Foyer wall: A0 (841 × 1189 mm) or 800×1200 mm, a series of single-sided frames.
  • Ticket desks: horizontal double-sided 1200×450 mm with ticket prices.
  • Entrance glass: double-sided A0 suspended on cables, visible from the street and the lobby.
  • Cinema snack bar: A3 (297 × 420 mm) on support feet showing combo deals.
  • Corridors by the screens: 600×1600 mm with upcoming premieres.

Why a backlit poster rather than a screen or an ordinary frame

Cinema and theatre foyers have dimmed lighting in which an ordinary poster disappears. An LED frame lights it evenly, without bright edges, so dark cinematic stills keep their depth. Unlike a screen, it needs no video licences or schedule, and changing the programme means sliding one poster out and the next one in. A series of slim A0 frames creates an elegant gallery of premieres, in keeping with the classic tradition of the playbill.

Case study

An art-house cinema with two screens had old fluorescent display cases that lit unevenly. They were replaced by a series of four A0 frames in the foyer, a double-sided A0 in the entrance glass and a horizontal 1200×450 mm frame with ticket prices above the box office. An A3 frame with pre-show combos stands at the bar. Every week staff change the posters in line with the programme, with no ladder and no unscrewing of casings.

How to order — step by step

You do not need to know about advertising or printing. You just need to know where the frame will hang and what you want to show on it.

  • Measure the space and choose the artwork format — you will find tips above.
  • Choose a model: single-sided for the wall, double-sided for the window, horizontal above the counter or with a power bank for the table.
  • Prepare your artwork or describe what you want to show — we will help you choose the right backlit print.
  • Order a frame and print at shop.ledmesee.com or send a photo of the space via the contact form.
  • Hang or stand the frame, connect the power and slide in the poster. You change the next graphic in seconds.

Important: an indoor frame

LEDMESEE frames are designed for indoor use. The slot through which you change the poster is not sealed, so outdoors dust, dirt and moisture would get inside. If you want passers-by to see your advertising, place the frame indoors, behind the shop window. We are working on a special cover that will protect the frame from rain, snow, dust and dirt.
